The strengths and weaknesses of self priming pumps, centrifugal pumps, and submersible pumps

Visits: | Date:2023-04-16

The principle of a self priming pump is to use a centrifugal impeller and a separation plate to forcibly separate the gas and liquid for the entire process of respiration. Its appearance, volume, net weight, and high efficiency are similar to those of pipeline centrifugal pumps. The column type self priming water pump does not require auxiliary machine equipment such as bottom valves, vacuum valves, and vapor separation equipment. All normal production and manufacturing starts do not require liquid filling, and it has strong natural suction working ability. It can replace the commonly used underwater pump (bottom level liquid delivery pump) at present, and can be used as a circulating water pump, tank truck delivery pump, natural suction pipeline centrifugal pump, obstacle cleaning vehicle pump, and other main purposes.

Centrifugal water pump:

When the centrifugal water pump is conveying liquid, when the liquid level gauge is less than, the pump must be able to produce water. Therefore, a bottom valve needs to be installed at the pump inlet. Over time, if the bottom valve is corroded or stuck, it must be replaced or repaired, making its application inconvenient.

Submersible pump:

Submersible pumps are usually used for conveying cold water and rivers, while when used for conveying corrosive liquids such as strong acids and alkalis, it is prone to motor erosion and electrical problems, which is very unsafe. When the pump is blocked by waste, it is necessary to pull it up to remove it, which is very inconvenient and therefore rarely used in practical applications.

Submerged pump:

The submerged pump solves the problem of bottom conveyor. However, due to the use of a long shaft and the uneven axial force of the centrifugal impeller, all shafts are of suspended wall construction, resulting in significant stiffness at the end of the centrifugal impeller during rotation. The longer the axis, the greater the stiffness. To address this challenge, rolling bearings are installed on the shaft. However, because the whole shaft is a Flexible shaft, the rolling bearing continuously suffers from unilateral damage, with a high wear rate. The rolling bearing shakes strongly and the damage rate accelerates, so the underwater pump is damaged more frequently. And the shaft is not suitable for making too long, usually within 2 meters. The rolling bearings of the submerged pump are cooled and lubricated by water using the medium of the pump conveyor. If the medium of underwater concrete does not freeze and moisten the rolling bearings (this can occur when the pump is empty and the inlet is blocked by dirt), it will cause tile burning and even burn out the motor. The maintenance and installation of the submerged pump is very inconvenient. When the conveyor has corrosive media, it is impossible to carry out lifting without special tools.
